I am so forking excited this morning! I never thought I would be so excited to hear the birds sing, or to find a dirt track to jog on. I am not sure if I can attribute this happiness to my adaptation (I am now successful at a full night sleep and daily poo!) or the sun. That shining sun seems to create the feeling of life being easy again.
It was a rough night for Allie, the place she intended to stop was full, so onward into the night she drove with the D.O.T. clock tick tock tick tocking away. Lucky for her she has the internet and google maps to see that the next location has a decent size truck stop, and lots of big parking areas around if that is full. A cattle town with stockyards abound.
Allie had to fix the windshield wiper today, when the windshield was replaced the wiper was not tightened down enough. An easy fix.
It is fun as we cross intersections of these smaller highways and Allie realizes, "hey, I have been here, just from a different direction!" Funny how familiarity can feel so comforting.
I am so impressed with how well things are going in this tiny space. This is a struggle, but having someone as great as Allie to take me through it sure makes it easy. She gives me space to experience it, not just telling me how it is and how to feel about it.
In an attempt to let people know what it is like for over the road drivers, I am heading out with Jim Palmer Trucking driver Allie Knight.
