Seems like a general perception of truck driver is dirty, grimy, criminals that toss dead hookers in the dumpsters. Overall I am really impressed with the relative safety I feel out here.
Places where when I tell you what is there, or what I did (like climbing into this drivers truck for a look-see) you would cringe, or want to call my mother to have her scold me. I am well traveled, even cross country by myself on a motorcycle, I trust my judgement and have confidence in my perception of situations and people.
There are good people and bad people in every population, from my experiences to date there are way more kind, wonderful and good people in the trucking world of today than bad.
This is Sahid and his pup, he drives from Vancouver BC to LA every week. Originally from Cuba, with an Egyptian name because his dad was intrigued by Egypt, he has been driving for many years now and loves it.
In an attempt to let people know what it is like for over the road drivers, I am heading out with Jim Palmer Trucking driver Allie Knight.
